Annual appraisals are performed during the first quarter of each year. The appraisal is performed to help management increase productivity, establish goals for the upcoming year and communicate expectations for each of the employees.
Proper appraisal helps both management and the individual in achieving company’s objectives.
Open communication between manager and employee during the process increases understanding of individual’s role in the organization and makes it easier to employees to talk about their achievements and needs. Based on the annual review, HR department can determine development needs of the staff and prepare accurate analysis of staffing, compensation and training policies.
It usually consists of personal self-appraisal and supervisor’s evaluation.
