Task 1.
Read the text below to get the general idea:

In the contemporary world of mass media communication and the Internet, business relations are formed in a slightly different manner than they used to be. For the majority of successful businessmen having an extensive network of professional contacts serves as a base for future cooperation. At present, business relationships are built not only through traditional work contacts in meetings, lunches or conferences, but also through social portals such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked in or Golden Line. In this virtual world people create, share or exchange information and ideas on an unprecedented scale.
Social media differ considerably from traditional ones in terms of quality, reach, frequency, usability and performance. They mostly rely on advanced technologies, such as the Internet or mobile phones, and thus allow average people a wide and practically unlimited access to their resources. Thanks to modern web-based applications social media users are also able to co-create, distribute and modify the user-generated content of other virtual community members. Internet users are said to spend more time with social media sites than any other type of site, also because they additionally provide interesting career opportunities or even substantial incomes.

Social media connect not only people with their close friends, distant family relatives or co-workers, but they as well allow job-seekers to find potential employers. These networking services serve as convenient sources of information, discussion forums and meeting spaces for business people and their would-be employees. Such wide-spread socializing through networking enables to get to know vast numbers of people in a relatively short time and with comparatively limited expenses.
